Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Question Sony Vegas 7.0 problem help?!

I've got a bunch of video that I have recorded on my digital camera.
I have uploaded them onto my computer but for some reason when I try to put them in Sony Vegas 7.0 to edit, it just shows up as audio only. No video whatsoever, just a black screen with noise.

Any suggestions on how to fix the problem and why the problem is occuring?

Anybody have this before? How did you fix it?

First thing use the search function on the forums its been asked befor. Due to stability issues Vegas will not use "Direct Show" codec. I take it your video works in WMP, right? Try using a program called g-spot to find out what codec is used then use virtualdub to convert it, both are free programs. As a side not people here are more then happy to help but you need to be willing to go the extra mile and use the search funtion, good luck.

I have had this problem as well. What worked for me is to download super, which is a really cool video encoder:

SUPER © videos

Then convert it to just about any file type that is supported on vegas. You can then bring that into vegas

But how come it works on my other computer?

And its wierd how the video files are .avi already, then i have to use virtual dub to convert it to .avi then it works in Vegas 7.0

And its a real pain that i have to do this to all my video clips, which is about 42 clips. Is there a way to just convert them all at once?

actually super does support batch encoding, just drag all of them at once to the little stage thingy.
