| | Output video match input Hi there. I am New to Vegas Movie Studio. Doing recreational editing. Have been using Ulead. Trying to do something in Vegas that I can do in Ulead.
In Ulead, when I output my final video, I can select "same as first clip" for a final output format. This makes it perform a smart render which is very fast. I usually just trim the video and add a title. The vids are from my still camera that take 30fps 640x480 video.
Can I easily do this in Vegas, other than trying to match the properties of the main clip manually in my output prefs? If yes, How?

| | Choose render as from the file tab ( ie: file>render as>) then pick what you want |

| | So the best way to quickly do this is to look at the properties of my input video, then render using a custom profile that best matches the input video? My videos are 30fps progressive, not 29.97. They use the MJPEG compressor.
Will this method render only the parts that need rendering?
I believe that is what Ulead's smart render does, it renders much faster using the same settings ("same as first clip"). Ulead has been acting up, so I'm looking for a replacement editor. Thought I'd try Vegas Movie. |

| | Even though it says 30fps it most likely is 29.97, Render will depend on processor speed. If your clip is mpeg and you render to mpeg it will be faster but keep in mind the compression. If you start at 8,000,000 and render to 4,000,000 it will take longer, If you do a two pass render the quilty will be better but you will double the time. |

| | So Vegas does not have similar feature as the smart render? Vegas will render the whole clip rather than just the parts that changed ie. transitions and titles. |

| | Yes, but If you render to the same settings it would be fast. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
