Its actuly amazingly simple. I will ashume that you already have shot and edited your backround. All you have to do next is make sure you have two layers in vegas. Then photoshop your image so its got a alpha channel background (If you can't do this then ask me or another member nicley) and export as a .GIF. Then Simply have your backround on the bottem layer and your alpha channel image on your top layer. I hope ive made this clear. Please say if I havn't!

That's a bit like asking"How long is a piece of string!"

There is no set answer for this as there are too many variables.

It depends on the power of your PC, Your disk setup, what formats you are editing from and rendering to, the pixel complexity of the video itself.

If you are not used to rendering then be prepared to wait. Rendering can take a while so you will need to learn to be patient. As you get more used to it you will learn how long certain types of renders take and will be aable to estimate yourself.
