You guys have any clue whats going on? Thanks for your help!! |
This is a little late, but in case anybody is still interested:
Vegas 7 is not compatible with Vista. The SQL Server Desktop Engine will corrupt your Windows Media Center, and if you have a TV tuner installed, it will stop the tuner from working. You are asking for trouble if you install 7 or lower.
I have all upgrades of Vegas back to version 5, and in order to install, for example, the upgrade to Vegas 8 on a new Vista-equipped Vaio computer, I have to install the old versions up to the 6 upgrade. The trouble is, the old versions will corrupt my new computer, just to get the Vegas 8 upgrade installed.
It's an impossible situation. If you have a Vista computer, you need the full Vegas 8 software, not an upgrade.
I'm faulting both Microsoft Vista and Sony software for this ridiculous situation. Vista is a bloated, unforgiving, memory-sucking OS, and Sony's upgrades should be able to be installed by confirming that you have the disk(s) of previous versions...in the absence of this capability, Sony ASSUMES that we will never, ever upgrade our computers to current-day technologies and OSs.
