Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default Blurring out a face?

How do I blur just a portion of the shot? I want to cover someone's face to make it unrecognisable, but can only find how to blur the whole screen. Thanks.

duplicat the layer on top, then blur that layer and put a mask around the section you wanna blur.

Thanks but I'm not that clued up on the media generator elements of things - can you be a bit more detailed? I copied the clip onto a new layer, added a gaussian blur and then added a mask generator, but all the mask seems to do was make the picture look washed out and removed the blur!

ok - dont use the mask generator effect - instead bring up the "event pan/crop" tool for the clip and create a mask in there - if u are unsure how to create a mask then open up the help files-

-search for "mask"
- select "compositing and masks" & at the bottom there should be a title calles "craete a mask"
