Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Hi

Two things You may do to solve the problem:

1. Do not use TIF files, as Vegas loads ALL pictures into the memory. Use instead the PNG format. With that format You can also use 32-bit transparency effect

2. Decrease number of rendering threads to "1" and a preview memory usage to 16 Mega byte

Point 1. is most essential to do.

Best regards
Stef

It shouldn't really matter what format your images are in as long as they are the correct resolution.

Make sure they are all at 72 DPI, which is what video operates at.

Hello, thanks for the input.

I have resized all the images to 480 pix high, while the width varies, that seems to have taken care of the flicker. It also runs much better.

Would I be able to keep a larger pixel size if I made the resolution 72dpi?

What is the benefit of png's over jpg's?

Another issue I am having is with the menus. I have been having 3-4 seperate mpeg's to make a complete movie. So for instance I have 1 mpeg which includes bridal prep, girls, guys, and bride & groom, then another with pre-ceremony, ceremony, and maybe 2 more that split the reception in half.

I was mainly doing this because of the problems I was having rendering the larger files, so thats not so much of a problem now, but I am curious if I need to include more than 1 video in the future.

When I put all this together, ideally i want all the sections to play through in order. When I double click a section, and select options for "end" I have selected the next chapter of whichever movie should start next. For instance reception after ceremony.

However, sometimes, when hitting "next" while playing the movie, the chapter will start over, or replay the same chapter over, so I hit next again, and eventually it continues through correctly.

Sorry, this is a long post. Anyway, does that make any sense, and how can I get seperate files to play in succession?
