Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default Blurring effects

Hi, I'm new to Sony Vegas, I'm currently using the 6.0 version. I was wondering how I do blurring effects. I recorded footage from a game I play using fraps, and I want it to blur and possibly change colors every time I kill someone. I haven't played with it a lot because I don't understand it, but I did try using the trimmer, and copying/pasting the smaller clips. But it makes the whole video blur, not the part I selected.

Hi,

You could try "Event FX" - "Sony Linier Blur" and play with the settings. You will have to split the clips so that the effect only applies to the area you require.

Hmm I don't understand the top one at all with the Pan/Crop thing.

But the event FX one works, just a lot of work to do. But thanks for the help.

I always find it funny how people are suprised at how much is involved in editing.
