Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default Adding a title banner to text?

Hi everybody,

New to this forum...I have a quick question. Is there any way in Vegas 6.0 to create a title banner? For ex. I want to make a video where the words come up at the bottom of the screen as a man is speaking but not just have txt. I want there to be a background bar behind the text. I made a simple little colored bar in Microsoft PhotoDraw and imported it to vegas and then added chroma keyer to add some transparency to it but it just doesn't look that great. An example of what I'm talking about would be like on the news when text is on he bottom of the screen with a fancy background behind it...does this make any sense? Thanks for reading my rambling. If anyone could help that would be great! Thanks!!

(I don't have flash or anything like that :( )

Instead of using chromakey to 'add some transparency' try putting your photo draw coloured bar on a separate video track above your background video, reposition it to the bottom of frame and use the levels slider in the header of the coloured bar track to make it more opaque.

Wouldn't that be less opaque?

Well now...I'm not sure about this.(Specially at 2-38am!). If something was less and lessopaque then ultimately it wouldn't be opaque at all and if it was more and more opaque then ultimately it would be completely opaque. Yes?/No?. Might also want to try putting a gradient on that coloured bar akledbet. I'm off to find a dictionary

Actually, thinkin about this again I shouldn't really have used the word opaque at all. More transparent might have been better. Apologies

Thanks, I didn't even think of using the level slider. Looks a lot better.
