There is an effect I've been longing to do for a while and did ask about it on here a while ago. I got a bit of info on it and after trying myself I still can't get it. I've been told it is called a Flash Burst and it is used quite often in surfing videos which is where I first saw it so I'm guessing there is a fairly simple way of doing it.

there are several diffrent ways in which one might achieve this but it all depends on the footage you are using on which one to go for. Because there are so many ways of doing it its difficult to advise you on how to do it.

Taking the exaples you have given it looks like they have cut in frames and 3/4frame fades of pushed/restricted colour. ie pushing all the yellows/reds and taking away all the other colours. The camera work also helps with the transition.
