Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default Fade between tracks in Vegas Movie Studio

I have two long video tracks, of about an hour each. One static camera, and one roaming. Both recorded in real time, at the same time.

I want the track to be the main track and dip into the roaming camera when there is someting interesting.

So basically I have 2 video files.

How can I "Mute" one video track, showing the other at specific key frames. I can't find out how to do this, without chopping the track into small pieces.

The help shows cross fading on the same track, but that's not what I want.

I only have.... "Track Composite Level" and "Track Fade to Color" under Insert>Video Envelope>

Maybe this is a full Vegas only option?

A track composite envelope should do it.

You could also split the track without auto ripple on and just cut out the pieces you dont want

That's what I was trying to avoid doing, but maybe it's the simplest.

Thanks for your help
