Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Question Urgent: No video when importing XVID encoded files...

Hey guys,

I have a bit of a boggle here. I converted a bunch of DVD files to XVID, but they only dislay the audio in Vegas, and no video. I would go back and re-convert them to something else, but it will take hours and hours - time I simply don't have.

I installed the most recent XVID codec (http://www.koepi.org/XviD-1.1.2-01112006.exe), but still no joy... Any ideas?

Thanks!

- MS.

Same thing happens to me... I have the xvid codec installed and I can actually render xvid with vegas, plays in wmp but no video when i reimport to vegas. I know that is of zero help but at least you are not alone.

This is a serious limitation of Vegas. It seems that the workaround is to get a FourCC changer at

Video Help (http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=...C_Code_Changer)

and change the headers to Divx. This seems to work for some people, not for others.
