Default visual effects - trippy visuals

In Sony Vegas.

This kinda stuff seems quite hard to do and I dunno where to start, any help or pointers?

You mean VJ type visuals? Yes a tonne of work in an editor but you can create some great vids.

Yeah that type of VJ stuff, just not sure how to make make images look as if their swirling etc?

Yes, just play around with stuff. Lots of fx, lots of keyframing, lots of tracks, some lateral thinknig and a heap of work.

If I put a swirl fx on a picure it's still a still image, no motion.

You need to add in some keyframes to the timeline at the bottom of your Event Fx window.
