| | Best Way to Edit HD
I finally figured out how to capture HD onton my hardrive with vegas. When I dragged it into vegas it would play but very slow and stuttered a lot. When I tried to play it just in a media player the computer basically stalled up and a major error accured it said. I was wondering how I am going to get HD quality but be able to edit it normally with out the skipping and why does my computer stall up when I try to play HD?

Unfortunately a celeron is not fast enough to do HD editing, or even playing as you have found.

Mark is right - your only hope is to downgrade from HD to DV but even then a celeron will struggle

That sucks... So what do I need to edit HD? I have a Pentium 4 downstairs or am I going to have to get something special? I might just wait until school next year to edit the footage. Was an HD camera a wrong thing to buy? Thanks for the help guys.

A Pentium 4 3.0Ghz with hyperthreading I believe is the recommended minimum for HD playback.
