| | Yet another Sony Vegas 7 rendering problem... Ok, this is my first post, but bear with me:
Ok, I've just made to brilliant videos. (I'm not bragging, they are excellent) As soon as i get to the task of rendering them, It does render, but you can clearly see in both the preview and the finished product that at least 50% of the clips turn out black, with the music still playing in the backround...
I have heard about problems with interlacing and such, but i was wondering if anyone has or has had this problem, and thus, get a solution. I really need a response!
I would love to show these 2 videos to you guys, you seem to be a sound crowd and I look forward to hanging around here.
Thank you,

| | Well, around half the clips. Not necessarily 50%, not that exact.
Basically, it's like covering your eyes. Sound, but no sight, the video shows as a black screen with sound and then works fine again, then it goes black etc. So, some of the clips on the timeline, when rendered, turn out black for no obvious reason.
It's very frustrating , and I have looked everywhere for a solution and/or a cause.
I will be getting a new PC soon, with all the features (2GB RAM, 4.80 GHz etc.) . So whether that will fix the problem is unknown to me. Obviously, it's a very rare occurence, so I will see if I can upload a video to show what's going on.

| | This has happened to me when rendering from videos of dubious pedigree, like torrented divxs, could that be it ? ?
My very flaky theory about this is that vegas doesnt like, err, adult videos, or there are 'faults' in the video or maybe it is the result of too many installed codecs.

| | Yes, but only ever on torrented divx, and then not always, I am yet to pin down the exact reason but it was definitely worse on my old pc with a zillion codecs installed. Just a guess really, I think it has more to do with dodgy source material as it has never ever happened with captured DV footage.

| | Well, they're not torrented divx's, and thy're certainly not "other" videos, im merely making an MGS4 trailer and Casino Royale trailer. I don't think there are any solutions, i will try reinstall again on the new pc (when we get it)...
Thanks for your help, you'll be the first to see the new vids |
