Exclamation How do you have a transparent scene?

How do have like like one scene and have another scene faded in in the background? Like a transparent kinda thing? ( I need it for a fan vid Im making) thanks guys! oh and how do you make the sliced clips move together smoother? ( im using Vegas 6 BTW )
