Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default Noob problem: best described as "tearing" in videos.

Hey everybody, I'm rather new to Vegas and advanced video software in general as I am used to easy mode programs like windows movie maker.

Cutting to the chase.. I've experienced "tearing" in my preview window while I'm editing videos and didn't think much of it until I saw that said tearing is also appearing in the final rendered videos.

If it helps at all, the videos I'm rendering have been captured from in game (world of warcrack).

If anyone has any ideas of how I might be able to rectify the problem, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Can you post some more info - it could be the capturing process of interlacing.

What sort of video file is the captured file?

Click File/properties/in the 'field order' pull down select (none) progresive scan. As you are capturing from a game it captures progresively, and default in Vegas it renders interlaced.
