Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default Adding a script to Vegas

I have this script which I would like to install.....
http://www.ayizwe.net/VegasScripts/matchaspect.js.txt
Do I just copy/paste to notepad and put in the Sony script menu folder?. all the scripts that are already in the folder are .cs files. Not .txt files.??

This looks like Java Script. Try copy the text into notepad, and then save it as a .cs file. Then put it in the Script Menu folder.

I don't know of it is working, but it seems the most logical solution to me.

Alright, I'm from the Netherlands so I have to translate the options in notepad.

- Paste the script in notepad
- Choose "save as"
- And if I'm right there are 2 options in a pulldown menu.
- save as textdocument (.txt)
- save as all files, I don't know of this is translated well but that is the 2nd option under the first one.

If you save it like that, there is no extension behind the file, so you type .cs there. (In the save screen)

Good luck, if there are problems I here it from you.

OK.

Rename the file by just removing the "TXT" extension:

So:

matchaspect.js.txt

becomes:

matchaspect.js

If you wish to activate this JS script from the Scripting Menu you need to place this "script" in the folder:

Sony\Vegas 7.0\Script Menu

Once you have done that you THEN need to "Rescan" the Script Menu folder by doing this:

Tools > Scripting > Rescan Script Menu Folder

This will then place this "Match Aspect" script there for you ON the Scripting drop down menu. Neat huh?

You could also plop that Scripts Icon onto the Tool bar too! I have . . several on the toolbar!

Hope this helps,

Grazie
