Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Default Video doesn't preview correctly in Vegas

I filmed a short 3 minute video on my digital stills camera (I have no video camera), and when I open it with Vegas 7 the video is all messed up. I can still play it on VLC Player, though...
I believe the file's encoded as Mpeg-4v2... file type is .avi...

P.S.
I searched the forums, and couldn't find a relevant solution...

vlc is a very clever player that can play alomst anything, but to edit footage you need to find and install the correct codec.

Try googling ' codec 4v2' and see what you can find to install.

I tried searching on google, and I installed DivX 6.4, which seemed to solve the problem of the video playing on DivX (apparantly DivX 5 is too old?), but it still didn't help with Vegas...
Do you have any more suggestions?

Well, I'm not that good with editing and the likes, so if you have some guidelines or recommendations I'd be more than glad to listen...

Thank you.
