Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

I think you really have to just watch other stuff and gain inspiration from that. I'm always discecting what I watch on TV and in movies in my mind and wondering how to emulate stuff in Vegas. Most things can be done, you just have to spot something and have a go at it.

Anything specific in mind?

I get a lot of ideas from this guy on YouTube, who is a firm believer in Vegas:

The general advice I would give is just experiment, lots. There aint no quick fix to getting the hang of vegas.

The track motion tool is very usefull, play around with that. Also remember that tracks st the top of the editing window will appear on top of those underneath.

Play around with the effects to see what they do. Get your head around keyframes, this is very powerffull and how most cool things are done. They set a point where the settings of a certain effect or trackmotion setting can be adjusted, add another further along and vegas will smoothly move from one setting to the next.
