Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Lightbulb Searching for Vegas Answers?

Just a little sticky to let you all know this forum has an extremely useful search function at the top of the page.

If you want to find a quick answer or solution, chances are we will have covered it before, so it'll usually be quicker to do a quick search for the subject rather than sit and wait for a reply from another member.

Usual questions are stuff like speeding up clips (type 'Velocity Envelope') splitting clips, applying effects, keyframing etc. Mostly it's all been covered before, so have a look first.... nothing to lose!

If you can't find it, ask away, we're here to help!

EDIT - Will start adding links to commonly asked questions and the answering threads as I think of them. Feel free to PM me with additions.

1. Jittery playback in your preview pane. HERE
2. Getting the hang of video speed variations (Velocity Envelope) HERE (Audio speed HERE)
3. Masking and Cookie Cutter HERE (Blurring something out HERE)

I do get quite mad when people keep asking the same questions,it seems as soon as the topics get moved down a page people cant find them anymore.
Even worse is when you realise this was there first post..

As turn media says please use the search box.

I'm new to this forum and still haven't seen a solution to my problem. I have Vegas 6.0 and am working on a football highlights video with music and text. The video is approx. 56 minutes long and the problem that I am having is that whenever I open the project some of the video clips appear as black boxes in the timeline and in the preview pane. I have tried replacing the file, but it does not help. I am fairly new to video editing and have been successful creating DVDs with photos, but video is giving me a headache. Any help out ther?

Hi, I'm new too, and have had similar problem, except that it "whites" out. I'm thinking it has to do with my PC more than the program. Windows Vista has a habit of using video memory resources up, forcing a reboot. Anyway, my suggestion is to import some smaller scenes to see if it does the same thing. Oh, do you have your timeline expanded? Try working with that also. Good Luck.

Default Sony vegas pro

G'day all,

2 questions - im in australia using sony vegas pro9.
im working with HQ MPEG2's.

what do i do to set it up in 'File' > Properties?

Template > Custom?
Pal DV Widescreen 720 x 576 25.000fps??
Field order?
Pixel Aspect ratio?
Pixel Format?
Full resolution rendering quality?
Motion Blur type?
Deinterlaced methods?

And rendering

What is the best way to render for archiving files that i will work on again? i want to lose as little quality as possible to compression as i can.

How do i do the final render for DVD architect 4.0?

thanks
