| | Help speeding up clips! I spend like 10 minutes outside today just messin around and i filmed the clouds cause i wanted to do one of those film the clouds and speed it up real fast deal. I put it on my comp and started editing and when i held control and squeezed it, it only lets me go so far then it wont let me speed it up any more. This also happens when when i slow clips down too. Anyway to keep it from stopping you? Also in vegas 7 how do you split the audio from the video? |

| | If you do a search in the forum for 'Velocity Envelope', we've covered it loads of times, you'll find all the info. For locking the audio, right clcik the track, go down and select Lock. You can then edit video and leave the audio untouched. Works the other way around too. |

| | i will split clips and there will be specific parts that i want sped up/slowed down but when put in the velocity envelope it will pull in parts of the footage before/after that i have split into separate clips. Isnt there an easier way? I have no clue why vegas wont let you ctrl+grab+stretch/pull it to any size you want. Thanks for your help turn but ive been messing with the velocity envelope for the last 20 min and can figure out how to do it right. |

| | If you speed up a clip, and there isn't enough time within the clip to go as fast as you want, it will pull in whatever comes after (or before). It's just a matter of fact that it can't speed up what you haven't shot.... |

| | For times loner or shorter, thats your limit. If you want to go further then combine the velocity envalope tool with the rubber banding.
If you want to go further still, render and reimport, time stretch / compress again.
