| | Analogue to Digi Conversion I need to quickly buy some hardware to get some VHS tapes into Vegas. Anyone got any experience of a good product?. Canopus ADVC 110?...or other. Price is not so important but quality is. |

| | A friend of mine got the 110 to capture a load of vhs tapes and he says it looks as good as the original. He has finished with it and I shall be buying it off him soonish.

| | Yep, I've got the 110 and it's very versatile. But, in some situations, I plug in external sources to my cam and record on to DV tape first and then capture. I usually delete files after editing and this keeps it archived if I ever need it again.
EDIT - Alot of cameras don't accept an incoming analogue source, so you may not be able to do this, but if you can, it'll save you some cash buying a converter. |

| | Mark...Did you see his footage after conversion?.Is he knowledgeable about these things?. I'd be very happy to have it look "as good as the originals". I see it for sale for under £200 so make sure you get it for a tenner, second hand. (Great spelling BTW. Do you happen to have Firefox 2 purchanarse?.
Turn Media....This archiving thing is an issue for me. I started this whole DV editing malarkey this year because I inherited a friends camera after his demise but I cant 'save to tape' on it, something I really need to get set up. I cant preview out from Vegas to TV monitor through his camera but I understand the 110 will enable me to do that. Correct?. If so I get a double gain I suppose. (Turn Media looks like a man with Firefox 2) |

You say you could use it as a preview box, it converts both ways then ?

| | I'm pretty sure it does, but I've never tried it. I only keep unedited on tape. All the rest on hard drive.
Don't have Firefox 2. Just an English C.S.E. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
