Sony Vegas and Media Studio Yep, I know they're not related, but they both fall in the Premiere Alternative bracket in my humble opinion! Post here for Ulead Media Studio or Vegas video problems or pointers...

Ok, not blurring, but masking revealed. Using the technique I mentioned above, this is an example of what can be done. This took about three hours to do and I'll admit it's not perfect, because it was shot to show once on a backdrop while a the girl sang the song. It didn't have to be spot on and it's not.

Top layer was colour, lower layer b/w. Masked off her head and keyframed it as the camera tracks around her.

10% feathering on the edges and around fifty or sixty keypoints that move.

Put a track above the video in question. Fill it with a clip using the insert solid colour tool (in 'insert' menu in 'generated media'), select black as the colour. Then select the 'event pan/crop' icon on that clip. At the bottom of the window that opens, tick 'mask'. Use the 'ink pen' tool to draw a box around the clip (decrease the level of the track to make this easier, you can then see the track below). Put the level back up, now insert the 'gaussian blur' effect onto that track and only the part selected ny the mask will be blurred.

Edit, also you can use the track motion tool on the mask track to keyframe in any movements needed to follw the plate.

Hope that helps, if anything isnt clear there post again and I will have another go.
Thanks!! That's the way I just did it.
