howdy guys,
havign a bit of trouble with some slow motion effects
explan:
ive got a clip of me running round a gorner and sniping soem one in the face ( from a computer game )
i want to slow it down the moment i hit him, which is easy enough, but its giving because the source video is quite low frame reate ( or low rnough ) you can see each individual frame, like some kind of slide show.
i dont want to make it any faster, btu i need to solve this
is there any kind of filter i can use that will fade the frames togeather to make it smoother ? im pretty stuck here :(

Not that I know of, can't you recapture that part again but at a higher frame rate?

Adding motion blur will probably help. Vegas also has something called ' superssampling ' that claims to be of use for animators who want to fuill in gaps between frames, tweening I think its called.
Never used it but it might do the job.
Both these effects are available on the master video track, just right click off on the left and insery desired envalope.
With the blur I would suggest adding the blur at normal speed then slowing it down.

To get good slow motion you need to either shoot in a higher frame rate or make up the missing frames. The Vegas supersampling sounds like the only ticket. I have a plug-in to Premiere which does the same thing but costs a bunch. I'd like to see the outcome from Vegas.

I got into slo mo and played it some time back. I found that blurr really helped.
In this film things are up to one fifteenth normal speed, with blur; http://www.zaskarfilms.com/filmPages...tcherspage.htm

I'll have to try that Mark. I always wondered what super sampling was all about.

ahhh thats helped alot !
thanks
ill experiment between the motion blur and super sampling.
i found that different vido effects merly applied the effect to each frame, so didnt work. but those two trick have... done the trick !
took me a while to find the video track bus though !

Something else to remember, always dinterlace footage if you are going to use slo mo or the fields get split and ruins the effect.
