We've saved the best for last: the video effects tab. This is where Pure Motion's attention to detail shines through. With so many video effects included within Edit Studio 5, I can merely highlight what I consider the most useful: from colour correction and grading to chroma keying, the effects are keyframable and some include preset functions such as name plate censorship. These preset functions give Edit Studio's edge over its rivals: plenty of packages offer the ability to do all kinds of effects, but require either lateral thinking or a complex guide to achieve. With Edit Studio the most frequently asked effects are ready and waiting for you. A great example is the route tracer. Such a simple concept that would ordinarily require the use of a combination of effects is broken down and included as a series of highly configurable presets. For a more in depth look at this feature, take a look at our guide to creating a journey planner: Fly to your destination. The final stage of any video editing project is the output. Again Edit Studio does everything you'd ever need with a variety of output options at your disposal. The only feature lacking is DVD creation With complex video effects, Pure Motion once again prove advanced video editing need not be expensive. The inclusion of preset effects such as slide show creation and the route tracer demonstrates Pure Motion's attention to detail too. Edit Studio boasts an array of features which can only have come from listening to us, the end user. And that's most probably down to their heavy involvement in the support forums. I did notice a few quirks, but nothing to distract from the overall performance. It's a highly recommended purchase for beginners and advanced users alike.
