Latest Version of Award-Winning DVD Creation Suite Turns Personal Memories into Hollywood-Style, High-Definition Blockbusters

Santa Clara, California (January 4, 2007) — Roxio®, a division of Sonic Solutions® (NASDAQ: SNIC), the leader in digital media software, today announced the launch of MyDVD® 9 Studio Premier, a feature-rich upgrade to the company’s market-leading DVD creation suite currently bundled with a range of digital devices and personal computers. Developed using the same underlying technologies that power the creation of Hollywood DVDs, MyDVD makes it easy for consumers to apply professional techniques to quickly turn personal photos, Buy New - MyDVD 9slideshows, and home movies into stunning multi-media DVDs. Highlights of the latest release include Blu-ray Disc (BD) and mobile device support, Windows Vista® compatibility, enhanced video-editing functions, and innovative DVD design and playback-behavior controls. Roxio MyDVD 9 Studio Premier is available today at http://www.roxio.com/ for a suggested retail price of $69.99. “Based on the wide availability of affordable, high-quality digital cameras and camcorders, the overwhelming majority of consumers are now using digital devices to chronicle their lives and, as a result, are accumulating massive amounts of raw personal content,” said Stan Wong, general manager, Roxio division of Sonic Solutions.  “Roxio MyDVD 9 Studio Premier is the ideal solution for consumers who wish to make this media more meaningful for themselves and the people they share it with whether posting it to a user-generated content site for mass consumption, viewing it on-the-go, or enjoying it in the comfort of their living room on wide-screen TVs in vivid high definition.”

Enhancing Memories
MyDVD 9 Studio Premier includes a powerful array of photo and video editing tools that offer consumers the perfect blend of automation and hands-on control. For creating professional-quality videos, consumers can use the high-definition enabled, 32-track timeline editor with advanced video overlay tools and fine-tune editing controls or take the quick and easy route with the product’s CineMagic® feature, which automatically turns raw footage into a polished production. Additional automated capabilities designed to make the movie-making process a cinch include a one-click color correction tool and an innovative background noise removal feature.  MyDVD 9 Studio Premier also includes time-saving features, such as the Multi-Trim editor, which allows users to quickly remove a number of unwanted scenes from a movie simultaneously.  MyDVD also includes PhotoSuite® to allow consumers to touch-up photo-taking mishaps and a Slideshow Task Assistant for turning high-resolution image  s into shows of breathtaking quality complete with transitions, titles, background music, photo panning and zooming, and narration.  MyDVD 9 supports the OpenDVD® standard, enabling consumers to re-edit finished disc creations.  In addition, MyDVD 9 is backward compatible, allowing owners of previous versions to edit projects created in MyDVD versions 5, 6, and 8.

Hollywood-Style DVDs
For generating Hollywood-style DVDs, MyDVD 9 includes new, professionally-designed menu styles that give home movies the professional polish of a blockbuster DVD release. Consumers can choose to enter the MyDVD Express mode, which will guide them quickly through the production of a personalized DVD, or they can enter the advanced editor and take complete creative control. Advanced features include motion menus, menu-to-menu transitions, animated buttons, menu overlays and end-action controls, giving users the power to customize the look and feel of their DVD. In keeping with the industry’s transition to high-definition, MyDVD 9 includes Blu-ray Disc support. This support enables consumers with high-definition camcorders to retain the pristine quality of the HD footage throughout the editing process and then burn it to Blu-ray Disc media for enjoyment on Blu-ray equipped PCs or Blu-ray set-top players.  In addition to supporting BD media, MyDVD 9 is compatible with a full ra  nge of standard and dual-layer DVD recordable media.

Media Mobility
MyDVD 9 includes a Media Manager that enables consumers to quickly organize and access photos, music, video files, and creative projects.  Users can also take advantage of the Media Manager to upload photos, video clips, and ringtones to their multimedia mobile phones through a USB or Bluetooth® connection. In addition to sending personal content to their phones, consumers can also download the spontaneous moments they capture using their built-in phone camera back to the PC for storing, editing, and sharing. Media Manager also enables consumers to transfer their favorite entertainment such as DivX® content or recorded programming from a TiVo® system or set-top DVD recorder to their portable media devices. Consumers can use predefined settings to auto-format files for sending to an iPod, PSP or select from a comprehensive list of supported file formats that can be customized to suit any device. In addition, MyDVD 9 offers innovative options for sharing finished productions
with friends and family via the web.

Pricing and Availability
Two versions of the product are available. MyDVD 9 Studio Premier is available now exclusively at http://www.roxio.com/ for a suggested price of $69.99. A second version, MyDVD 9 Studio will be available in early 2007, at major retail outlets across North America, and online for $49.99.
