HONG KONG, Dec. 5 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Hosted Internet services provider Outblaze today announced the release of OutblazeVideo, a white label web-based multimedia editing and sharing application for Telcos and portals. OutblazeVideo is delivered as a service, enabling operators to deploy and brand a suite of sophisticated "Web 2.0" multimedia and sharing tools for their customers. The new service was unveiled in Hong Kong at ITU Telecom World 2006 (booth 8019.010), which marks the first time that the leading industry event has been held outside its native city of Geneva.

OutblazeVideo is a turnkey, user-centric video manipulation engine built for web sites. With its customizable interface, search capability, sharing tools, and multilevel metadata indexing, OutblazeVideo is designed to tap the growing popularity of user-generated content and social networking, and therefore increase user acquisition and retention for Outblaze clients. The first deployment of the service may be found at the official online home of Hello Kitty, www.sanriotown.com (direct link to SanrioTown Dream Studio: http://video.sanriotown.com/ ).

Users of OutblazeVideo require only a web browser: currently supported are Internet Explorer (version 6 or better) and Mozilla Firefox (version 1.5 or better). No installation or download is required because, unlike typical multimedia software, OutblazeVideo resides at a central server rather users' computers. Users can upload various digital video, sound, and image media, which the OutblazeVideo engine instantaneously renders to Flash format for publication, storage, and sharing on the client's web site.

It is possible to control all aspects of the Flash movie to create an original, personalized showcase. Whether the end product is a simple picture slideshow or a motion clip, the rich-featured editing tools allow anyone to manipulate layered media, animated slide elements, photo & text effects, transitions, and soundtracks.

OutblazeVideo provides clients with opportunities to increase traffic and audience for their brands and enables two primary forms of revenue generation: advertising (including video as well as standard web display ads) and premium subscriptions (such as increased file size limit and greater range of editing features).

Outblaze Founder and CEO Yat Siu said: "With OutblazeVideo we seek to improve on first-generation video and photo sharing services by bundling a full suite of multimedia creation, editing, and publishing tools in a single browser-based product with a fast learning curve. Because it can be deployed for any client on any web site, OutblazeVideo helps to bring the media-rich potential of Flash within the grasp of all Internet users."

OutblazeVideo accepts several file formats, including avi, mpg, mpeg, mov, wmv, flv, asf, jpg, jpeg, gif, png, and bmp.
