Well let's see,

How to Read a Film: The Art, Technology, Language, History, and Theory of Film and Media by James Monaco

Film Directing Shot By Shot: Visualizing from Concept to Screen by Steven D. Katz

Screenplay: The Foundations of Screenwriting by Syd Field (is that cliche or is this even the right place to suggest that book)

And it may sound silly, but if you're ever in a thrift store or second hand store (Oxfam bookshop?) look for any old photography books. Kodak had a series of photography books in the eighties - The Kodak Library of Creative Photography - I have a couple of them for fifty cents a piece.

Design Basics Index by Jim Krause (Really any book by Jim Krause!!!) They are all awesome and accessible and fast to read.
