Unhappy Can't get past 1st base

Hi, I've just bought a Pinnacle 500-USB with Studio V10.1

I can't get the thing to capture off an analogue camcorder. It woekd from a digital corder using the firewire connection but no luck using the Composite input.

In devie manager I get a yellow question mark against the Muktimedia auudio controller and the SM Bus controller. Does this have anything to do with my problem. I got the shopt where I bought it to test against their test rig and watched it capture fine from my camera. But it just doesn't work on my PC. I have the settings identiacl to the shop's test rig.

I have a brand new Dell optiplex GX620 with a clean build of Windows XP.

Any help appreciated, this is driving me nuts.

Try downloading the 10.5 patch "Do Not DownLoad the 10.6 patch" It deleats source files! At least I'm not the only sucker that bought Pinnacle...LOL. The biggest problem with pinnacle is they release bad code to the public befor its ready. Then after the get it fixed they release another buggy version. Basicly your paying good money to be a bata testing ginnipig...You can "try" to get ahold of their customer support..Good Luck!!
