Thread: studio 8 transferring vhs to pc as mpeg but lip-synch is out

so i figure it may be my pc?
when i record the vhs footage through studio 8 onto the pc and watch it back then i try to render it, the lip-synch goes by a second or so. very frustrating.

any tips on what i should be encoding the data stream rate and audio stream rate?

or to get round it should i record the audio and video as separate files and try synching them again later?? this would be a right pain i'd reckon!!!

btw am using -

xp
2.4ghz
120gig hard drive
256 ddr

and the vcr is plugged into a dazzle digital video creator 80 to talk via the usb to me pc

I have found that any analogue input via non proprietry hardware can give problems as there are usually 2 inputs.
1) vidoe via Video/ TV card
2) sound via sound card.

Try importing shorter sections of video and splice them during render as the lipsinc generally moves out further as the capture progresses

You can readjust the sinc by cutting and pasting the sound track (this can get messy
