Problems making .avi DivX videos from Pinnacle.

It was all going so well.....I use Pinnacle 8 and DivX 5.1.1 codec to make excellent .avi DivX movie clips at a crisp 640x480 and MP3 Audio. You have to use MP3 since PCM doesn't work as the clips will not play on my Yamada 6100 domestic DVD player with PCM format sound.

But now, inexplicably it doesn't work anymore! and nothings changed! It gets about 25% of the way rendering the clip and it stops. It doesn't crash or anything, it just produces a truncated clip. It all seems to be related to MP3 becasue when I change to PCM it's OK (I then have to convert the audio in the clip to MP3 using the excellent VirtualDUB)

Anyone else have experience of this problem?
