Oh the debate goes on,
Im now on 12 Ultimate.
Editing HD footage from me ol Canon.
THings are slow, and yes it crashes now and again, my advice is to set autosave to every 5 mins !
Problem with editors, is that you learn one make and stick with it, which is what i have down,
Studio is easy to get into and easy to add more things.
With Pinnacle at the Helm, im sure the next version will be the best ...........

not using Pinnacle at all at the moment because Pinnacle 9 AV/DV gradually fell apart - i had been using it for about 7 years
went over to retro Adobe Premier Elements 3 which works okay (xp) but had loaded Roxio Creator to Vista on the 'just in case', and this is better than Adobe PE3 because you have far greater audio control over soundtracks and the Roxio version H263 web codex is the best i have used to date
am also using a WinFast PCI card which allows me to import electronic footage via RCA if i so wish
my Adobe crash was the result of me getting 'lost' in the software - but Pinnacle was really losing it crash-wise; Roxio is fine.
could well go back to Pinnacle one of these days - it is a shame only version 9 had the RCA PCI, it was very useful while it lasted

| | Pinnacle Studio 11
This is the first video editing program I've bought and it's pretty good. Don't know how it compares with the latest version though. I bought Pinnacle initially because it was at the time (Aug 2007), the only affordable enthusiast package that supported AVCHD.

Have just found this forum after my first real day of trying to use the Pinnacle 12 Ultimate. Not sure is this is the best place to ask this question and am a little embarrassed that I can't fiqure it out myself but here goes.
I recorded some video and wanted to take out a short pause in my voice. I have a picture so as not to see my face but can't fiqure how to take 1 second out of the clip. I woud think it should be easy.
Thanks in advance

You should be able to cut the track and just scrub out the bit of video by dragging the ends of the cut track.
To answer what others have been saying about Pinnacle, especially 11 Ultimate, as far as I'm concerned it's by far the worst program I have ever tried which is a pity it has some very good features but it is the most crash prone program I have used, I even went to the expense of a video card, which made very little difference, strange no other editing program needed one, I like Corel ProX2 it handles AVCHD from my HF10 without a hitch, but so did Premiere and the later versions of Vegas, so maybe it's more a problem Pinnacle has with the new H264 codec.

I agree.. and the customer support is the worst.. It pretty bad when they come out and say it your fault befor they even try to help.. and when I go over to their support forums a lot of others have the same problems.. I had high hopes when they merged with avid.. I wouldn't recomend their program to my worst enemy
