Beginning to wish I had bought something else...

Edting is just a pain, it does not want to re-load clips in the right order, if it will load at all and most of the time just loads the wrong clips

Finished files are HUGE - My 3.05 mins video has come out at 780MG! Any ideas how I can edit it down.

Really dissapoined right now.

When you render it you can choose the quality youn render it so just choose a lower setting and then it will come out at lower quality but then also smaller size

Default editing pain

editing is sometimes a breeze but often a pain - and i have also used Mac editing software - all i can say is, the more you edit, the easier it gets; but then leave it for a while, and you go back to '0' - just hang on in there - and yes, you can select from 'web' sized movies to huge dvd style movie files: you do have control over this / best of luck / Ric

You'll get smaller file sizes rendering to WMV or MPG. I assume that you're rendering to AVI. These are typically very large because they do not compress the video. If you're rendering to CD, use the built-in VCD or SVCD formats for rendering that are found in the MPG-2 render type.

MOV files are extraordinarily large with the provided CODEC. I don't understand this, but I don't render MOV files so Iknow little about this.

Re: File order. What do you mean by this? Are they out of order on the timeline? This might be caused by having insufficient memory, but I'm just guessing. You should have at least 2 GB of ram in your rig. Also, which edition are you using? The pro or the standard edition? And what version number, and whcih Windows are you using?

Thumbs down I'm ready to scrape my Pinnacle software

I had Studio 11 Ultimate. I bought the 12 ultimate upgrade.

What a nightmare. Have spent over a week on the phone with their Tech support. Only one in six really appered to have a grasp. It's been installed in so many differant ways We ran out of options. The full vesion of Studio 11 Ulimate had no problems. However, The problems with 12 Ultimate (upgrade)
are the Hollywood effects wich I never purchased for the 11 ultimate. Hence reason for buying 12 Ultimate upgrade. Have never been able to log into their live chat page for help (page errors) The email links they give to ask questions(same thing)

I don't have problems with people from indea but the poor phone lines make it very hard to understand them. They are determined but only 1 in 6 appear to grasp the understanding you would expect from customer support.

One of their Tech's even told me to never install their upgrades...lol

Reason for complaints:
Software won't install all of the transitions that came with it.
Others won't run
Over a week on the phone is un-acceptable.
Take their survey, They send thank's with customer support links that don't work because someone can't build a web page?...Come on!
Same problem with live chat.

I'm using XP W/sp3

Lightbulb pinnacle

ouch

commiserations

had a lot of fun with pinnacle over the years - Pinnacle 9 av/dv with (was) brilliant capture card - but i had to go over to Adobe Premiere Elements 3 because Pinnacle had no deflicker software for my home movies ~ neither does Adobe but there are Adobe plug-ins

am having more fun with Abobe - it seems to crash less - but early days. but Pinnacle 9 has really lost it now, am glad i went over to PE3 when i did: although it's a steep learning curve after cutting my dv edit teeth on Pinnacle :-o

bests
