| | Oh and another thing: expandability. While there are hundreds of free and paid plug-ins for Studio, PE is probably not compatible with all the plug-ins available for Premiere (you know I don't use Adobe). And, at some point, you can upgrade Studio+ to Avid Liquid at a very reasonable price, as for PE I don't know what the upgrade price to PPro is, if at all possible. |

| | I recommend not buying this very defective program. I used Studio 8 (DV) for many movies without problems but this program (Studio 10) was very difficult to simply load. Once it did load it will not allow editing or bring captured scenes to the timeline. It shuts the program off every time. Many more problems than can be described here. |

| | Yeah, the stability of it is a concern of mine. I don't want to get something, good as it may be, that crashes on me every 15 minutes. So, is Premiere Elements a good system? It's getting a lot better consumer reviews than Studio is. And the big (only) complaint about Studio is that you can't even get it to run half the time. |

| | It all depends on the user.
If you're all thumbs, you can crash a Hollywood editing suite every 15 minutes too or not even get it to run at all. |

| | Well I finally plucked up the courage to install the standard version and to be perfectly honest it's perfectly aimed at the beginner. http://www.videoforums.co.uk/reviews..._articleid/139 |

| | Well I think Marc did an outstanding job of covering the program's ins and outs. Even though my initial upgrade to 10 did not go as smoothly as Marc's I still think Pinnacle is an excellent program for an entry level editor. I personally have stuck to version 9 but will probably bite the bullet once more after Marc's review and try to go to 10 since I have the software just sitting on my shelf. I have more than enough computer for the upgrade so we shall see.
Thanks Marc for taking the time to go over this program like you did.
I hope others find it as helpful.

| | Running like complete garbage (pinnacle 10) I have 1gb of ram, 3ghz computer, 250gb HD, radeon x800 card so on and so forth, and pinnacle just isnt even worth working with anymore. I have a 40 second project and even previewing a video with 1 title in it causes heavy slow down and stuttering in the playback. basically anything i ask the program to do causes extensive 'thinking' by the computer and stuttering and overall slow operation. no other program on my computer experiences this sort of behavior, including adobe premiere pro. this isnt only with this project either, it has spanned across everything ive done in the program since i got it around xmas time. Is Pinnacle 10 really this much of a joke? or is there something off here? any help/insight would be greatly appreciated |
