Hi (me again)
Does any one who uses liquid edition know if it is possible to put a copy protection on to DVDs?
I gave a DVD to someone to "view" and I have a feeling that they have gone and copied it and sold it!!!!!!
There must be a way of putting on some sort of copy protection to stop these very annoying illegal acts from happening!!!!!!
Thanks
Nick

You can put copyright protection on DVDs... but it's just as easy to break the encryption and copy 'em.

Ok thanks.
Is there a particular program that does it? Do you think its worth it?
Should I just take copyright out on all the programs that I make?
Nick

Firstly, if you can prove they have done this then you have some recourse for legal action against them if you decide to pursue that.
Forget trying to employ some form of copy protection as this is impossible achieve, even the big picture houses can't manage it.
My advice would be to watermark any video which you are giving purely for previewing purposes. That way it makes it not very attractive to sell it on.

OK, it's after the event now, but if it was a preview DVD for sending out for people's opinion, usually is, like LJR says, to put a quite large watermark over it, and just have a couple of minutes of footage rather than the entire thing.
