I was wondering if it is possible to create lightsaber effects (like in Star Wars) using Pinnacle Studio 9 and Photoshop Elements 3.0. If it is, could anyone explain how?
To use photoshop you will have to extract each frame individually, do your effects and then build them back into the movie and I don't think you can even rotoscope lightsabers in Pinnacle.

definately after effects. or check out videocopilot.et there's an after effect preset on there that does it all for you. drop it over your footage in the right place, keyframe it and it's done. you can change the colour, weight of the saber, motion blur of the movement, etc. its great!
