Default Pinnacle Encoding problem

Hi,

Hi,

Im using Pinnacle Studio 8 ver 8.10c. I'm trying to render my movie as an .avi file, I've hod no problems rendering Mpegs, but every attempt to render an .avi fails and I have no idea why. there are no error messages it just appears to stop, leaving no option but to cancel it, this occurs at different points in the film. I've given it plenty of time (8 hours overnight?)
but still the same.

Now the only thing I have noticed is that I have two hard drives, one has my operating sytem on and other programs including Piinnacle studio 8 (Drive C), and the other is for rendering my movies (Drive D). Now recently during a few renders I kept getting a low disk space warning on my C Drive, but I'd checked it earlier and it had plenty.

So is pinnacle using the space on my C drive to do the intial render before it sticks it on the D Drive?

Please help, its driving me nuts!

thanks

Hi GoatBoy,

I had a similar problem. I use Norman Virus Control which in numerous cases (also for other applications) cause problems. I turned it off and it speede up rendering by a factor of 2-3 and most importantly: It didn't hang anymore.

Good luck!
Anders

Best is to turn of Virusscanners and other firewall stuff.
Also Kazaa will get you in trouble.

When you start rendering make share nothing is running except Pinnacle.
Try and set the temp dir of window to the D: may be this will help!
