Default vhs capture black and white?
I am new to this game and have a dazzle 150 capture device and studio 9 software with all latest patches. I am capturing VHS tape via scart to S video and USB 2 to PC Athlon 3.0 decent board large HD Win XP SP2. Problem is the capture will not produce in colour. Has any any idea why this is happening? :(

Try another s-video cable.

sounds like an rgb/composite problem. Are there settings with your capture device you can change?

No cant change settings on capture device can up colour saturation on software but it does not help. Changing S Video cable - not sure that will help thanks anyway

Not all s-video cables are created equal. Believe me when I say that some cable will result in a black and white picture. I'm speaking from experience.

Not all VHS machines have S-vid out so when you use a scart it would be in black and white. Try it in composite and see what happens.

Another possibility is the pins may be bent on the connector. Check carefully that they are straight and going into the holes correctly. If needs be straighten. I have seen where one pin being out of line can cause the b/w image an no color. Wish you well.
