Pinnacle 9 plus, Player window and timeline out of synce

Hello
\Using Pinnacle 9 plus my player window and my timeline drift out of sync!
I have captured a movie from a VHS recorder which had copied a Hi 8 camcorder tape. At the editing stage i am able to add titles captions and music but because of the drift over approximately 25 8 second scenes it is dificult to follow as the timeline is moving faster than the player window and i am not sure it will render correctly. any help for this old silver surfer would be greatly appreciated.
