aspect ratio problems

ok i started a project and i filmed it in 16:9 (widescreen), i started the project and it didnt recognize automatically that it was in 16:9 and it staye din 4:3, i did the whole project in 4:3 and now i cant switch it w/out redoing the whole thing again

is there anyway to switch it from 4:3 to 16:9 w/out redoing it or am i screwed
