Thread: Help - No sound in Pinnacle Studio 12

Bertie, I had this problem when I used Pinnacle. It seems to conflict with the sound card driver I was using. I don't know exactly how or why it did this as I'm not a software expert. My sound card was a DMX6fire. when I reverted back to the motherboard sound card this worked. You might also check out if you have the ASIO4ALL audio driver which caused someone a problem. Just a couple of ideas that may help.

thanks, speakers fine - hardware fine - even an older version of pinnacle on the computer working fine - its just some conflict - pretty sure pinnacle knows what it is too, they must be having a lot of complaints.

New computer, installed pinnacle 12 - went relatively well untill i tried using the voice over tool. no sound at all now - thought of installing 11, but it says only xp and vista - well -------- it.
Pinnacle is such a loss.
Tried sony vegas pro - excellent built in tutorial - editing took a while to learn, a number of unusual ideas - things needed to be read carefully - first try - no jerkiness, very smooth - pleased.
Just to think, it wouldnt have taken pinnacle much to have had me upgrade to v 14. Short term gain for them, very long term loss.
Pinnacle is the only editing suite i see here in the shops - Norway- so many people with cameras - sooo many posting pictures, so few posting videos = could it be because people are having such hard times with editing suites?
ive tried installing pinnacle 12 on my new computer, went fine untill i tried the voice over tool - suddenly no sound at all in the whole program.
i see there is a patch for studio 12 - for some reason i cant upload it to my program, wonder why?
a loss to me, but i think a far greater loss to pinnacle - i wont buy any more from them, i wont tell others to try their stuff.
Like any effective business,pinnacle would be keeping their eye on these sites, a little advice for you - be good to your customers and they will be good to you, ignore them and they will ignore you.

I have same problem with Studio 12 in Win Vista. Upgraded to Studio 14 HD and problem mantains. Will i need this driver to work with Cubase 5 / Motu 828mk3 interface?

For Studio 11, no sound, I renamed the asio driver file in C:/program files/Pinnacle/Studio 11/Programs/asiodrvu.sio to 000asiodrvu.sio. Studio sound worked after restarting Studio. I presume that now that it couldn't find the asio driver, it used the system defaults, which works.

I solved this problem by going to the control panel -> programs and applications, and uninstalling the ASIO4ALL driver. It has worked great since then!
