Hey, everybody. I have downloaded several gunshot and blood effects from www.detonationfilms.com, (awesome site)

i unzipped the files and converted them to .avi format, and im having trouble getting them to look good. They come with a solid white background and im having trouble keying that out and still getting a satisfactory blood spatter.

any help?

I just tried chroma keying out hte white in vegas and it worked fine for me.

It worked less well using them in mask mode as suggested on the site.

I can chroma key out the white pretty well, but i just loose alot of deepness and the effect comes out 2D and slightly pixelated.

I used the beheading blood shot today and it looks to have worked ok. I used chroma key on the white.

yeah i worked on it a little and i got it to look almost that good. I just had tranparency and softness issues.

What are you using to key? What app? I thought all s ware keyers were much the same - perhaps not..
