I've used Adobe 5.0 and didn't like it much. I'm hoping that LE is better

It looks like the BoB has multiple inputs and multiple outputs. Or is it just multiple outputs?
Ok so HDV is what I thought it was. Although I knew nothing about 720p and 1080i stuff so I will ask my friend bout it. He’s an electronic guru so I’ll ask him to educate me.
BTW, my son has a 27” HDV TV in his room for his games. Little creep saved his own money for it and then bought the HDV hardware he need to make it work.
Ok so I knew about the dual head video card and now I’m glad that the BOB thing is not part of that. I didn’t want to have to buy extra stuff.
When you say you run two displays with LE against my GeForce FX5900 what does that mean? Does that mean you open LE up twice and work on two separate video projects at the same time?
What is Smartsound? I think I’ve heard that term b-4.

They are tormented souls wandering round aimlessly while waiting for some rendering to complete.
Just smile politely at them and they usually move along.

I have two displays and span my editing environment across them both. I.e. I have the timeline across two screens in the lower portion, the Source Viewer and Preview Window in the top half of the left screen and the storyboard on top of the right screen
SmartSound is one of Studio's strongest (or at least, most popular) features. It allows you to drop songs from a SmartSound library to a selected area on the timeline and have it automatically resize to the exact required length, while maintaining a proper end point to the tune (as opposed to it being cut off in the middle somewhere).

Ok so Studio 9 doesn’t have smartsound does it? I’m not at home where I could look up the answer to this question.
Here’s a smartsound question for you…say I have a 4 minute 33 second video and a 3 minute 22 second music clip. Will smartsound lengthen the music clip to match the video? Will it loop certain parts of the song to do that or just play it slower to make it stretch? That is what you mean by resize isn’t it?
How about the opposite? If the video is shorter then the music will smartsound shorten the music clip to match the video?
When you say smartsound library do you mean there are certain music titles to choose from or are these just special effect sounds like laughing or wind blowing? Can I use a music CD and take a song out of it and have smartsound resize it? This may answer my first set of questions huh?
Thanks Lloyd

Dave, yes Smartsound is included with Studio 9. I'm surprised you have not come across it. There are some songs included but you can purchase more from the Smartsound web site.
You are correct in that if you specify the length you want it will cleverly (using some neat algorithms) reduce or extend the music. It doesn't do this through slowing and speeding the audio up, it's much cleverer than that.
Have a play with it and see what you think.

I was looking over the LE web site and checked out some of the links. The one for special effects list SD and HD effects. What are they refering to?
