Default problem with "Capture"

I have Studio Versio 9.3 with the PCI card from Pinnacle, the 1394 firewire. Windows XP has not recognized my camcorder (JVC GR250U) in the Device Manager area. I have tried 3 different PCI slots. Odd thing is that the device manager shows the Pinnacle/DV audio.
I keep getting an error "the Device cannot initialize..."
I am surprised that XP cannot recognize the hardware.
I should not need a special driver for the JVC camera, right?
I have owned this camera for 3 years and never gotten this right yet... I hate to go buy new software....
Any ideas? Help!

Default Problem with capture

Hi Husker 500,
I remember that early versions of Studio v9 had difficulty with

certain models of JVC camcorders, sorry I can't recall off hand which Model No's

were affected. I do remember however that some guys cured the problem by

downloading the last patch for Studio 9 which was 9.4. Try that, other than that

I am at a loss to think of any other problem at the moment.

Regards Brian

Default Further info re failure to capture

Hi Husker 500,
Did a bit more 'digging' found a few more guys having problems

capturing with the JVC GR 255U, also with certain models of Panasonic. If the

Studio 9.4 Patch does not cure it, try reinstalling the driver for the AV/DV

Pinnacle card. You did install the Driver after you installed the PCI card? If

the driver has not been installed, the card will not recognise anything connected

to the DV outputs. Alternatively remove the Pinnacle card, just temporary, buy a

Ģ9.99 ordinary PCI 1394 card at USBNow.co.uk try this, if it works, it looks like

you have a problem with the Pinnacle AV/DV card.

Let me know how you get on

Brian
