Hi All
I have converted many VHS tapes and analogue camcorder tapes to digital video using a Pinnacle Dazzle Video Creator 80 device. Then successfully using Pinnacle Studio, edited and burnt footage to DVD.
Now I have Vista Premium on my PC, the Dazzle Video Creator 80 device is not compatable to Vista. Having surfed around, I find the DVC Creator 85, 90 and 100 is claimed to be compatable. Does anyone have experience of using any of these as I find users reviews of the product are pretty negative!
Is there another brand of convertor available?
Mike

Is there a Vista driver for Pinnacle Dazzle Video Creator 80? You would think Pinnacle would have an updated driver on their website ready to download when Vista came out. I used a Mini DV camcorder last year to connect a VHS deck to the computer. The Mini DV had analogue video/audio in sockets on it and it has Firewire out. This means that the analogue video going into the camcorder was converted to digital and then sent out the Firewire cable and into the computer. If you have access to a Mini DV camcorder with the correct sockets on it, then you could try that instead.

Thanks for prompt reply, there is no driver available. Pinnacle simply say the DVC 80 is not compatable to Vista. But you have got me thinking now. Off upstairs to look at my camcorder and manual. Thanks for advice

Glad you got it to work, what you have created is an analogue to digital convertor and it can come in useful when nothing else is available. That's disappointing news from Pinnacle that they don't have a Vista driver for their products.

I'm waiting now for further info regarding the Canopus ADVC55 AV Digitiser, but not yet sure if Vista friendly
