I have a couple of DVDs one with a slide show and one with film copied from a VHS tape and I have lost the files that they came from on my computer.
is it possible to extract the data from these DVDs and paste it into software such as Pinnacle Studio 10.8 to edit?

Most NLE's have an import feature for dvd's if not just copy the files to your hard drive, just keep in mind the quility will be low seeing how the footage is already compressed.
