Question Chroma key in pinnacle - washed out

I have recorded some video against a green backdrop and then put it "on top" of another video
the one I shot against the green background is crisp and clear but the other video is all washed out.
Does anyone have any advice re: how do I get them so they are both equally colourful ?
Thanks
David

Is the background video washed out when you watch it on the camcorder (I presume this is video you shot yourself) or is it just washed out after you drop it in during the keying stage? I don't own any Pinnacle apps but maybe the settings in your chromakeying need to be changed to get rid of this effect.

Default Wash out

It video is video I shot myself and is ok until I overlay the second, green screen shot video.
I guess I should fiddle with the settings?

I know a lot of the applications, especially the NLE's that have keying built in only have limited control over removing the blue or greenscreen background. Was the background well lit or did it have any shadows falling on it? If Pinnacle only offers limited control over removing the BG then you may not be able to get a totally clean matte.

Check the 'softness' bar in your Chroma Key settings. I've highlighted it below. If it's above zero, 0.00, then it'll start adding the greenscreen in the ChromaKeyyed space, in a slightly transparent way, making the video or image underneith seem slightly washed out. Make it zero, and all green/blue will be removed.
