Do I need this ????

Any thoughts guys, First time with a camcorder of any type and I will be using a Panny NV-GS27EB ( it was a freebie from work for long time service so I had no choice realy)
I will hopefully be connecting it to my PC , it's the Philips MT2400 and no doubt I will be searching the forums for answers.

Any firewire card will do. You may even already have a firewire connection on your PC.

It does have a card (after looking at the specs) so it's just the wire I need.
