Here is my problem, I have been meaning to record a machinima series, and as some of you may know, the HUD (Heads Up Dispaly) in Halo 2 even after getting rid of your weapons, is still very distracting to anyone watching the clip. I am a newbie when it comes to video editing and I am in need of some help, with using Pinnacle. I can record, edit scenes, add transistions and the like, but I cannot black out or "Letterbox" as it is called by the seniors and non-noobs, parts of the screen, to get rid of the HUD.

So, in short, how do you letterbox or black out parts of the screen with Pinnacle Studios Plus V. 10.6?

virtualdub can get rid of some that but it will still be noticable.

So VirtualDub however, It's still noticable...well my real question now is, Can Pinnacle Studio actually do it by itself?
