Need help with audio

I captured a wedding video from a VHS video tape using this AVC analog capture device. I am now trying to burn it to a dvd using Pinnacle 8. The problem is that when I specify the AVI video file Pinnacle detects the scenes but for some reason shifts the audio on by 9 seconds. So people speak when their mouths are clearly shut. The AVI file I captured is fine. What could cause this and if all else fails how can I shift all the audio back by 9 seconds? Thanks a million.
